YoYoBi beta · yoyobi.ai · YoYoBi Inc.
1. Who we are
YoYoBi Inc. (“YoYoBi,” “we,” “us”) provides the YoYoBi assistant at yoyobi.ai. This draft explains how we handle personal information in the invite-only beta. We intend to follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy rules for Canadian personal information.
Privacy contact placeholder: privacy@yoyobi.ai · YoYoBi Inc., Ontario, Canada.
2. What we collect
- Waitlist: the email address you submit to join the waitlist.
- Account: your email address, a hashed password (we do not store your password in plain text), the invite code you used, and the time you signed up.
- Chats: the messages you send and the replies the Service generates, so we can provide the conversation, operate the product, and (unless you opt out) improve YoYoBi.
- Feedback: optional thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings you leave on replies.
- Settings: your choice about whether we may use your chats to improve YoYoBi.
- Credits and usage: your credit balance and a ledger of top-ups and message costs.
- Payments: Stripe processes card payments and acts as the merchant of record. We may receive payment metadata such as a checkout session id, your email, the pack you bought, and that payment succeeded. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Device basics: information your browser sends in the ordinary course of using a website, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in (see section 12).
3. Why we collect it
We use this information to run the beta, create and secure accounts, check invite codes, provide chat, keep credit balances accurate, process purchases through Stripe, diagnose problems, keep the Service safe, improve YoYoBi as described below, and meet legal duties. We do not sell your personal information.
If transactional email is configured, we may send operational messages to your address (for example, a waitlist confirmation, an invite, or an account notice). We do not use your address for marketing unless you separately agree.
4. Consent
By joining the waitlist, creating an account, buying credits, or using the Service, you consent to this handling of your information as described here, except where another legal basis applies. You may withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions, which may mean we can no longer provide the Service to you.
5. Training on your chats
By default, we may use your chats to improve YoYoBi. That can include using them to write better practice examples for a later, tested training round. Your chats do not change the model while you are talking; improvements happen only when we retrain.
You can opt out at any time in Settings by turning on “Don’t use my chats to improve YoYoBi.” If you opt out, we leave your chats out of the export we use for retraining. We may still keep chats as needed to provide the Service, debug issues, and address safety or abuse.
Optional thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings help us see which replies were useful. If you have opted out of improvement, those ratings are also left out of the retraining export.
6. Sharing
We share personal information only as needed to operate the Service: with Stripe for payments (Stripe is the merchant of record), with infrastructure providers who host the Service under contract, and when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety, or the Service. We do not sell personal information.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep account, chat, and ledger information while your account is open and as long as we need it to operate the Service or meet legal duties (for example, payment records). Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or we close the list. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, dispute, or other legal reasons.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email privacy@yoyobi.ai (placeholder) from the address on your account or waitlist entry.
8. Access and correction (PIPEDA)
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and request a correction if it is inaccurate. We will respond within the time PIPEDA expects, subject to limited legal exceptions.
9. Security
We hash passwords, limit who can access personal information, and use ordinary technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please use a unique password.
10. People under 18
The Service is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a person under 18 has given us information, contact privacy@yoyobi.ai (placeholder).
11. Transfers outside Canada
Stripe and some infrastructure providers may process information in the United States or other countries. When that happens, local law may apply there. YoYoBi Inc. remains accountable under PIPEDA for personal information we transfer to service providers.
12. Cookies and local storage
We use an HTTP-only session cookie (yoyobi_sid) to keep you signed in. It is set by the server, is not readable by page scripts, and uses the Secure flag when the site is served over HTTPS. We also use a separate CSRF token to help prevent cross-site request forgery. The site may use local storage for theme preference and the chat list shown on this device. You can clear local data in your browser; signing out clears the session cookie.
13. Changes
We may update this draft as the beta changes. We will post the new version here with an updated date.
